Afzal Khan
Afzal was our first volunteer. He contacted the Ideas Foundation after seeing an article about our work in Campaign.
As a young black graduate trying to get into the industry he seemed frustrated at every turn. Through the Ideas Foundation he was able to meet agency creatives, get advice about his portfolio and get in on agency meetings and events, socialise and network. Afzal is now working in the industry and has just been promoted to head-up a new initiative for his company.
Afzal isn’t the only one of our older students to move into real jobs. Sean and Stuart, also started as volunteers and are now in full time employment at AMV BBDO, one of the biggest agencies in London. Jay Dehaan went on placement at Creation Management (Oasis etc.) and is still there 2 months later!
